MIRNA BOGDANOVIC

The Bosnian-Slovenian singer/composer Mirna Bogdanovic, winner of the German Jazz Prize 2024, is the new star in the female vocal jazz scene. Accompanied by an innovative and first-class quintet, she convinces critics and the media in Germany and beyond. The opulent work AWAKE was released in May 2023 on Berthold Records, recorded at the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin and recorded with a chamber ensemble including a string quartet. Produced by celebrated London multi-instrumentalist/producer Chris Hyson (Snowpoet), it showcases a sound which is rich, varied and modern. Mirna Bogdanovic wrote the music for AWAKE under the impact of a breakup drama and other personal experiences. Enthusiastic reactions followed.
